Did you try the Council again kate about getting a blue sign put up. If you do then it will be illegal for anyone without a blue badge to park there. That's what happened with the space outside my house.
No sign will make it illegal. It has to have a Traffic Regulation Order to make it enforceable and no council can do that on the highway for an individual.
Is it possible to turn your front garden in to a drive, and have a dropped kerb?

i am a blue badge holder, but it is not illegal in scotland to park in a disabled space, got in touch with social work dept and they said it is not legalised til the end of the year, neighbours said they dont see why my son should use it if they cant, although mine is a disability car,the policeman said craig is using it for his own use as i am not always in the car,his sister said she will keep using it as she's got kids(ages 15-9)

dont have front garden,i am in an upper cottage flat

I didnt realise that was the case in Scotland Slinky. My dad has a badge as well but he's lucky in that they live detached in the country -he only uses it for town use.
Would it be worth having a word with yer neighbours Inspector because of his attitude because I can tell you they would be the first to move you on if you didnt have a badge -thats why I was surprised it wasnt legal in Scotland.
Lets face it youre not gonna be bosom buddies again -well I certainly wouldnt be with that attitude so no love lost.

Explain to the Inspector the reason why you need to be close to your house and he might just have a word on the QT.
Nothing ventured.
Good Luck.
O forgot -thats intimidation so you might have cause to make an official complaint.
Dont let him wear you down -fight fire with fire.!!

i am a shitbag ,i dont really want to go down that road, but come next year if they park in it i'll phone the clampers
It won't be as simple as that, even from next year. It takes at least 9months for a TRO to be put in place and the disabled lines must be yellow. If yours are white phone the council again and see about getting things in motion ready for the new law.
If your neighbour objects though, it won't happen.

they are very big and yellow

h c the social works dept said they are hoping it will be in place by the end of the year and nothing can be done until then
local paper love a good story like this

What horrible people - god help them if they have no compassion and hope they never need to have use of a disabled space themselves. What kind of example is the sister setting ot her children?

i dont want my son to have an altercation between them,he might get my son arrested,i will try and keep the peace but i will certainly ignore then, and we all live in a cul-de-sac like ramsay street in neighbours.
Some people are just bloody minded. I have really good neighbours. There are three of us with blue badges in my street and only 2 parking spaces so we all try to park normally if there is a space to leave the disabled spaces for the other 2. Doesn't always work but at least we try.
TBH i sort of agree with the neighbours, what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, and if you disregard that your non-disabled son parks there, the should also be able to dis regard that you non-disabled neghbours park there shouldn't you? Plus if it's not illegal, you can't do anything anyway

Bedknobs, I agree with what you are saying about my son using it, but the car is there for my use as I am not able to get out, if people park in this space it makes it more difficult for me to get out. My son doesn't park in this to make it easier for him to get into the house, he parks there so that it is easier access for me to get to the car if I need it.

The neighbours are all able to walk, none of them are disabled and they wouldn't struggle to walk the distances that I need to walk if they do park in this space.

We all own garages which hte could use, though this wouldn't be ideal for me as there is a 50 - 60 metre walk.

I just think the neighbours, especially a policeman should be a bit more considerate for a disabled person.

The other person who is taking the place isn't exactly showing a good example to there two sons and daughter by stealing a disabled persons parking space which I need to get out and do simple duties like getting to the supermarket.
could you cmpromise and get your son to bring the car utside when you want to go out? I sympathise with you being disaled myself, however, if my husband were to use my car, in no way would he or i expect to use the disabled badge, or disabled parking priveleges
Question Author
the blue badge only gets used when i am in the car,and he cant get the car in if there are no spaces so i am trapped if i want to go out,by the way my downstairs neighbour has 3 cars and parks them there but nothing is being said, and they also have a garage, remember the car is parked nearest to my house to make things easier
again, i see what you are saying, however, you can't take the moral high ground if you are letting your non-disabled son park there.
Are you saying that every single time he brings the car back, you are the next to go out in it? If not, then you are on a sticky wicket
