This little boy died needlessly.

The family said through a policeman that no-one was to blame. Has the mother not heard of child reins then? I am a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 3 so I am fully aware that chidlren of this age need constant adult supervision.

This neglect is part of what is wrong with the UK today....everyone knows their rights, but can't quite remember their responsibilities.

Nobody has mentioned the mental trauma to the train driver.
Terrible for the family and they will be inconsolable, but what about the train driver.......imagine sitting in the cabin driving your train at 60mph and seeing a two year old on the lines and there is nothing that you can do but to smash into him. He will have to live that moment all his life.
I have to agree with you I.Don No. None of us know what 'actually' happened in this case. All 'I' know is I definately 'would' know where my two year old was! Especially in those surroundings! Your comment about seeing mothers and their children lagging behind without them turning round I have seen for myself, astounding!
I also have to agree with I.Don No i've seen it lots of times where the mothers and busy gossiping to one another and the youngsters are running ahead, only takes a blink of an eye for one of those kiddies to run into the road, when my kids were small they either had reins, held my hand tight or stayed in the pushchair how ever much they winged about it.

so some children whinge and wont wear reins!!!! who is the parent in this situation??!!

I am saddened that not many of the posters on this thread do not seem to understand where I am coming from regarding this tragedy.....saddened, but, alas, not surprised.

I will repeat myself.....if only one pair of reins is bought and used by one parent who has a think about what I have been posting on here then I will be very happy.
It's because they do not regard it as neglect.
ummmm....I accept that, but then the must be prepared to pay the ultimate price...............?death of their child.
Which they are doing now.
