I have a Samsung Tocco Lite mobile phone (S5230). I am trying to set it to receive my googlemail,I have read online instructions & have also been talked through the procedure twice from Virgin Mobile. The co-ordinates that I have been given are :- incoming server -imap.gmail.com, outgoing server-smtp.gmail.com.
Despite all attempts I still cannot receive e-mails to my 'phone, I would appreciate any help with this problem.TIA.

see here, make sure you have set it to use ssl on the Imap server settings

http://unofficialmobileblog.wordpress.com/2009/08/12/setting-up-hotmail-gmail-or-yahoo-mail-on-your-samsung-tocco/

also if you want to send mail then the SMTP server has to be set to your phone providers server, not the Gmail one, so use one of the following

O2 smtp.o2.co.uk
Orange smtp.orange.co.uk
T-Mobile smtp.t-email.co.uk
Vodafone smtp.vizzavi.co.uk or send.vodafone.net
3 smtp.three.co.uk

Thanks Chuck for your prompt reply, just one more thing if you'd be so kind to advise, my 'phone supplier is Virgin Mobile. Ron.
try smtp.virgin.net for the SMTP server on virgin.
