Why is Katherine Jenkins on this programme? She is a singer not an presenter and it is patently obvious that she is out of her depth. They have put Michael Aspel with her to help her out, so why not just let him do the programme? Katherine Jenkins was not in the war (Aspel was), she is not a historian, so apart from the BBc's obsession with blondes - why?!!

Because she is the present 'Forces Sweetheart'. Don't be so cruel, most presenters are crap at first.

She is still very bad at presenting. They should have trained her better, she comes across as very patronising to older viewers - we are intelligent, not idiots!
I was looking forward to this series of programmes this week, buit had to turn off after about 10 minutes of the rubbish presentation on Monday. Stick to singing Katherine.
Sadly, she has a combined patronising and nervous approach to presentation.
Why didn't they let Mike Aspel do it alone?
I agree they are trying to attract a younger audience, but have failed to see that that audience has no interest in this whatsoever!
I speak as someone who went through WW2,and am noew 86 and cheesed off with the TV "interpretation"of it
They get so much WRONG,but as such programmes are made by 30 somethings they just don't have any knowledge of the time.
What they need is someone with my age and experience to put them right, but some hope!
