Hi,

I need to have my hair put up in a 1940's Victory Roll kind of style for a play. I've looked on u-tube and as my hair is only chin length I need to get some hair rolls to make it look thicker when I put it up. I've looked on Boots website and e-bay but cant find any. Does anyone know where I can get hold of some? In case Ive got the wrong name, they are a bit like a hair net stuffed with nylon 'hair'!

my mother tells me she used to make her own using old tights/stockings/pop socks. Get a pop sock tie a knot in toe end. Stuff with old tights stockings pop socks to make a sausage of required length and thickness, tie a knot in the open end trim excess and there you have a hair roll.

Many thanks, will give it a go!
I had a good look round for them earlier on this year for the same reason. I too couldn't find any!!

With enough practise and enough hair spray, you can achieve the look - mine worked out really well and stayed in all day. You'll need the longer bobby pins to hold it into place.

If you have a look on you tube, there are a few 'How to' demos.
