MM and KM Links August 2009 [Week 5]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

Welcome to this fifth and final week in the reign of Pope Adrian the Magnanimous . This month has proceeded very smoothly and we are now well placed for an exciting finish. Remember that I would rather nominate "fresh blood" as the next setter ~ even if it means bypassing an ex-Champion with more points. These last few weeks have brought a healthy crop of points and I am looking forward to this continuing.

Several newcomers are in the frame to register a win during the closing stages of this contest. It is just a matter of who can stand the pressure. Certainly, Adrian enjoys his sports from the armchair. Perhaps he has something up his sleeve concerning one of his participatory sports? Why don't you log on to see how this exciting contest is brought to a conclusion? The MM Links launch should open tomorrow at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am.

As usual, there will be an international version of this same game, which will be played in parallel and is called KM Links. This game kicks off at an earlier hour and has for several years now been organised all the way from Oz by our very own seekeerz aka Steff ~ the Hostess with the Mostest! Last week, Steff was preparing for a battering from The Mother of all Storms, but I�m sure that won�t stop her from signing on for KM Links duty tomorrow!

As normal, you are invited to chance your arm at both Link Games? They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards. As an added bonus, the final August League Tables determine who will qualify as Setter of the MM Link Words throughout the month of September.

As Crofter says he would rather nominate fresh blood...now you realise why I have been deliberately not scoring points! I would hate to have won...so I sit here on a Saturday Morning trying to think of words not to score with.
