Has anyone ever claimed on their holiday insurance for cancellation. I have had to cancel my holiday today (should have been going next Saturday) as husband has severed his achilles tendon and has to have an operation to repair it. I am sure I am covered but will it be straight forward

my aunt broke her wrist a week before her holiday, and had no problem with the insurance.

shame for you, but best of luck :o)

Thank you
Shouldn't be a problem other than the insurance company will want a medical report which many doctors charge for - and will not be refunded.

They will probably send you a form for the doctor to complete
It depends. My partner was booked to go to Australia when he developed a bad back and was told by his Dr not to fly as he needed spinal surgery.

Insurance refused to pay out even though it was not a pre existing condition, they said it was.

I would say your problem would be in getting your own refund, your husbands you should be able to get OK, but they may argue that there is nothing wrong with you therefore you could still go

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

got forms from Insurance company, hospital took over 2 weeks to complete!!! Sent them to insurance company who paid put in full (minus 50 excess) no quibble. It was fantastic. I heard terrible stories but fortunately mine wasn't one of them. Thank you for all your answers.
