What about the rest of the World when it comes to the G8 summit?  There are other parts of the world were millions live in abject poverty, India, South America,to name just two more. Will the G8 summit help these regions too, or will they be forgotten ? I understand that Africa needs help but surley not at the expense of other poor countrys.

My opinion - Perhaps the leaders feel that it's better to focus their efforts largely on one thing at a time.  I'm sure the G8 countries' leaders/summit will consider the plight of other nations/areas, but technically it's more efficient to do one thing at a time.  Obviously that's no use to the people starving NOW - but it's better in the long run.... arguably!!
one of the countries listed as receiving the third world debt relief that gordon brown announced about a month ago is a south american country (cant remember which tho), i think that we concentrate on africa the most as this is the continant with the most debt ridden countries that are the poorest
The 18 nations to benefit immediately from having their debt cancelled comprised: Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Honduras, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
