My daughter has given me a mobile phone ( she was embarrased with me, using my old 'brick ;-) I must admit though, I love being able to take pics. Now I want to learn to transfer pics and videos from the phone to my pc. First question: How do I know if my PC has Bluetooth please?

if it's a desktop it almost certainly hasn't unless it's very new, laptops it's been common for a couplf of years.

firstly have you an icon that look like this down by the clock

if you have then you have bluetooth, but even if you haven't bluetooth usb dongles are only a few quid from places like asda or tescos, or can be bought on line..

i have one of these and it works fine

Thankyou Chuck for your quick and helpful reply :-)

I was just about to order the dongle, but it's got some really bad reviews Chuck????
if you look at any computer product review by customers there will always be some bad ones from people that have been unable to get it to work, this is as often as not a user problem and not a problem with the item.

I am sure the one I have came with a key to license the software, but I did buy mine a couple of years ago, so can't be sure it still does.

if you have vista it should work fine without using the supplied software anyhow.

Yes I do have Vista, on a desktop PC and the phone is sony ericsson. Thanks for your help Chuck :-)
if you have a sony use this to manage it, it is far better than the official sony software (i've also got a sony phone)

also, personally I have found the USB cable a lot quicker and simpler to use in general than playing about with bluetooth.

I've downloaded it and I have a phone to pc cable so will have a play soon thanks again :-)
