Number 2 cat (ASBO) brought home a live weasel tonight. Initially he brought it in the house, but I persuaded him to take it outside and drop it. It's only a young one and so cute (but not cute enough for me to want to pick it up or have it in my house!). It's now outside in the garden and I think it is crying for its mum. What can I do, its in amongst the plants in the garden, so I can't see it but I can hear it. If I thought I wasn't going to get shredded I would try and find it and release it, but I have a horrible feeling it could bite!

it will bite Barmaid - why not try a local wildlife rescue centre for advice - most areas have one nearby. keep us posted
Good luck Barmaid, let us know what happens...

I couldn't find it this morning - despite poking around in the garden with my stick! I hope it made its way back to its mum.
On the plus side, I'm pleased to hear ASBO' back! :c)
Aw....sweet!! I rescued a baby stoat from two of my cats a few months ago. It was in shock, but otherwise unharmed, so I popped it in a large bucket, with lid, till it recovered (only about half an hour) and then took it back to where I saw the cats with it (I'd got them in by that time) and set it free. I hope it survived. I hope your little weasel did, too. K xx
