Can anyone tell me how you go about getting hold of hens which have been rescued from battery farms? I'm in East Lancashire and would like to keep a few hens in our paddock.

if there are any battery hen places in your area they would sell you a few-they get rid of them when they reach a certain age- they cost v little
or contact any animal charities in your area - if they cant help they could tell you where to get them
good on you for giving these hens a real life-have done the same in the past -and the hens lived for years
very few - if any - battery egg farms today; they're essentially illegal.

Buy Farmers Weekly mag for hens. Or visit livestock market.
try this site - hope it helps - www.downthelane.net/battery.php -
good site there carmalee
cat- the eggs you get are great too
