it is my dads big fiftieth coming up next weekend. i am a student, so i am pretty much skint as skint can be. i had this amazing idea of making something for him, but i am not exactly creative in the art department, so then i thought about baking him something. perhaps making a hamper of biscuits, cakes, perhaps jam etc. that i could throw together...any ideas of foods that are impressive but can keep for a week or so? i would really really appreciate your help!

Hiya, i can`t imagine any homemade cake or biscuits will be very nice after a week or so, and to be honest buying all the ingridients can be costly. How about going to a supermarket and buying some plain small cakes and biscuits from the reasonably priced ranges available and decorating them yourself to make them more personal, you could do the same with a larger cake and make a very personal and approriate to him birthday cake. xx
