My lovely mum is having her shoulder replaced nxt month, she's really nervous, and thinks she should just cope with the pain and not have it done.

Has anyone had one or know of someone who has, what was the recovery period like and how long did it take?

Thanks in advance

Hi Lorzy.

I had an ankle replacement. Was in plaster for 2 weeks, moon boot for another 8 weeks, & on crutches.

Now it's a case of physio & getting it stronger. It's coming along very well.

It wasn't a particularily painful experience - tiring, as I'm 47 & it's not easy to get about on crutches as much as it was when I was in my early 30's when I first broke my ankle.

But it was so worth it. The pain stops & you can get on with life.
