Someone appears to have hijacked my contact list on hotmail and sends the following message to every one.
How can i get rid of it and prevent it happening again.

Dear friend,
Last week, I bought an iphone on a website: www.elecls.com <http://www.elecls.com>, it is very cheap and I get it in 5 days. Its quality is very good. The website also sell psp, motor, tv , laptop and so on. I never forget to share good things with friends. So , if you are interested in , you can spend several minutes to have a look. I think you will be very surprise.
Greetings!

change your password.

and then when, in future, you see a website that claims to add all your hotmail friends or check to see who's blocked you etc if you enter your email address and password don't do it again.

Chuck i'm not computer literate but i certainly never gave my email address or password i do know that much from what i see on answerbank.
still change your password, if you used a real word as your password they may have just got it by trying a whole dictionary as the password until one word let them in.

Thanks Chuck I will change my password but i did use a combination of letters, numbers and symbols.
As Chuck says, are you sure you didn't fill in your details on something like this:
http://www.square-bear.co.uk/mitsuku/msn.htm

I set this up as an experiment and got a dozen genuine email logins and passwords within a few hours.
