so, my 15 year old daughter has her ears pierced a few times.. I don't mind a bit of self-expression and did the same thing when I was her age (although I wear just a classy pair of studs now!).

and now.. my 12 year old son wants his ear pierced. I hate the idea. boy + earring = chav.

double standards? should I stick to my guns, or let him do it and cringe every time I see it?

I really don't like seeing boys/men with earrings :o/

Just don't let them wear Burberry...
my mates youngest has had his done earlier this year - and he is 6

He looks a little tw@t - oh actually he is a little tw@t

however its only a way of self expression and one that can be rectified easily by taking them out.

If girls have them done, I really cant see why boys shouldnt have them done.

At least he hasnt asked for a bong......
Yet... he's still on the bucket of water and a coke bottle set up...
But you should deffo draw the line at a Prince Albert.

wow, it's like my kids are online!
''Dad would be disappointed!''

All those times during the early 80's... ''anyone seen the bucket!!'... and ''who's finished all the Fanta'' lol...
snags - sorry to disappoint we werent allowed fanta - we had a soda stream, so no big bottles around :-(
Sorry sara,
I tried to post this yesterday (when AB was running slow).
As far as piercings/tattos go we (Elsie & I) are og the opinion that as long as it's not harmful(physically) nor illegal, then we are not against it.

Having had GrandChildren/ Gt GrandChildren who want (and sometimes have) piercings or tattoos,we often find that doing so lets them get it out of their systems.

Trying to forbid youngsters to do things, that they are legally allowed to do,can only make the situation worse.
