I was on the way home today and i saw a small mouse fully alive near some bushes , i stopped and watched from 10 feet away, in a flash a big CROW swooped down and picked it up with its beak and took it to the other side of the road.Tthe mouse was squeaking for a min or two then the crow finished it off!. I thought they only eat dead mammels, does anyone no if this was normal? ( poor mousey!)

Crows will eat anything. It's not uncommon for them to peck the eyes out of newborn lambs. Sorry, but they're vicious birds.
Poor mouse!!! This story has nearly made me cry! poor iccle thing!

This is a seagull one.

Baby pigeon had fallen out of the nest and I was going to put it somewhere safe. Just as I reached it, a seagull grabbed it and took off with two little legs sticking out of it's beak.

The secretaries in my place still haven't recovered.

I once saw a Magpie kill a fully grown rat and then carry it off. Not a pretty sight.
Loads of birds will kill mammals or birds/fledgelings. If a woodpecker can break into a t*t  nest it will polish off the lot for instance. Its not all a pink and fluffy world out there- was up on the Dee Estuary for a huge high tide in Feb- all the voles/mice etc were flushed out of the marsh and had to swim for their lives- most got polished off by crows/gulls/magpies and a large variety of raptors. Watch Springwatch- particularly the bit on the Farne Islands- see how many chicks of various species become food for others.
