How do I get mould out of carpet?

I have just pruned an indoor plant and when I moved it, I realised the pot has somehow sprung a leak and every time I have watered the plant for god-knows-how-long, I have also been watering my carpet. Consequently I have a large dark mouldy patch on my otherwise cream carpet.

Out of spite, the indoor plant has now died and gone to plant heaven, so everyone who visits my flat can see the mouldy carpet. Does anyone know how to remove this please?

Thanks, Kate

Please don't get me wrong, bushbaby - but a rug of some sort?

Plants, eh? Green, ungrateful little bugg@rs.
bushbaby...Vanish! Works on everything.....should work on mould also..:-)

Sorry should have said, its is a gap betwen furniture about a foot away from the wall so covering it with a rug isn't an option. Nor with furniture for that matter, as I don't need any more and all that I have is bracketed into the wall and would leave marks if I moved it.

I'm keen to actually get the marks out!

Razzle - excuse my ignorance! Do you mean rubbing it with a bar of vanish soap, or are there super duper spray versions now?
You could also give shaving foam a try...honest!
Squirt some on the mark, leave if for about half an hour then gradually take it off with a clean damp cloth working in from the outside.
Shouldn't do any damage and might work.
Good luck.
Plants..miserable things, just wantonly go and die on you after all the watering, pruning, feeding, care and attention.....mutter mutter, grumble, grumble.
spray vanish for upholstery.......I find it useful for everything......you might have to let it sit a while. Should kill mould but not sure if it would discolour the carpet. I use it on clothes..the lot and it seems to work.

OK off to Tesco for some vanish spray. Am still a little puzzled by the shaving foam suggestion! Also as I have an epilator not a razor, not very practical. Unless I can pluck the mould out of the carpet LOL
undiluted white vineger dont soak it just enought to cover the stain then blot it with some kitchen towel
A watered down solution of biological washing podwer/liquid should shift it.
Ooops *powder*.lol
Try the foam..what have you to lose ?

There is some vanish spray soaking in at the minute. If it doesn't work, I may be off to get some shaving foam!!
Bushbaby..you may have to give it a few goes. Give it a bit of a rub with a rough cloth..that should help...godd luck.

I was just coming in to say it hasn't really worked when I saw razzles last bit of advice.... so off to try again lol
