hey. I just got a holland lop this weekend and put a litter box inside the cage in a corner with litter and some hay to encourage him to go there (even with some of his droppings). I read they usually pick corners and tend to go to the same spot but my problem is he goes where ever he pleases and doesnt pick just one corner. He does go in the litter box but also goes all over the cage and when I see that I'll say no kinda strict but he doesnt know what the heck Im saying. I just dont know how to keep him from going everywhere and having him go only in the litter box. Any suggestions??

Perhaps he only understands Dutch.

Sorry, flippancy doesn't become me!! Can't help you doxy, I've no idea how one housetrains a rabbit.

Mine just 'went' in one corner from the word go, in both hutch and house. The first time we put him in the house, we just followed him til he had a poo (with hindsight a bad idea since it could have been a wee, nasty) and then put some newspaper down and the poo on top (then washed our hands).  from then on he went there.  In his hutch he went in the furthest corner from his bed., we just used a trowel to clear the stuff out a couple of times a week.  Now he lives in a big run in the garden, with the hutch at one end and he now goes in the furthest corner of the run from the hutch.  It gets shovelled onto the compost every now and then!

If it is quite deep then the litter box may be uncomfortable for him to sit on every time he goes to the loo. May I suggest you take it out and give him a couple of days to see what he does. He should pick a corner, then try putting the litter tray back and see what happens.  If he still has a problem then maybe try just putting an extra thickness of newspaper down, or a normal shallow tray, should be easier to go to the loo on and hopefully should still be easy to lift out to keep the cage clean.
