Directory of Mobile Phone Users

Has anyone tried and been able to access the web site to allow going ex-directory ? Each time I try I am told to try again tomorrow due to site maintenance. When is tomorrow? Sounds a bit suspicious to me and will certainly prevent me going ex-directory if the site is never open. Any ideas please and I do no need the site address; I have it correctly bookmoarked.

I wouldn't worry too much about this site. I know of no-one who has successfully searched a number using it.

Thank you. I am not searchng for a number as I want to go ex-directory. I have enough trouble with cold calls and the like on my land line and not so far on my mobile and don.t want them. Whether searching provides the number or not isn't the point really.

actually if you think about it it does

the point is - if a search comes up with your name ... you're in ... if it doesn't you're not.

if you're not ... it's sorted - so square's question is indeed the "point"

In order to go "ex directory" you have to give them your mobile number, which they probably don't have yet.

But they will have it if you give it to them!

Maybe I had to pay, but I dont want them contacting me so I just did it.

the directory does not become live until monday and it is important the link for going ex-directory is used before then or it will be too late. we had an email flying around that contained the link i used and i got confirmation i was successful. it was via bbc website, programmes, working lunch. hope that is of some help to you. BTW i done this on wednesday of this week.

just to add you do enter your mobile number but you then get a pin code texted to your mobile number which you have to enter to actually complete the task.

I am making a directory of all email addresses. If you don't want to be on it just let me know your email address and I'll make it ex-directory :-)

Don't bother searching to see if you are on it first though.

For squarebear. Why are you composing a directory of email addresses? I have one of my own as I think that everyone has in address book or contacts list.

I'm not. I was just using it as an example of this phone directory. Please check you are on it before you send in your details otherwise they've got your number when they didn't have before.

If I was making a directory and I tricked you into giving me your email address, I would now have an extra one for nothing. This is what this website is doing.

As for the people who have paid to be removed when they haven't even checked they are even on it, well that just beggars belief.
