Does anyone know the recipe? I'd like to make one for my sister when I go and see her next week - she used to love them as a kid!

We used to have these at ice cream parlours when we were on holiday.  I think there was chocolate syrup at the bottom, then fruit, some scoops of ice cream, fresh cream and then chocolate syrup, nuts and a cherry, in a huge sundae glass with a long spoon.  Obviously, you can put anything you like in it.

wikipedia says that there is no recipe. I remember chopped jelly, both red and green, fruit cocktail, vanilla icecream, red syrup, whipped cream all layered into the glass with a cherry on the top

In this order i make mine starting at the bottom, fruit, ice cream, jelly, ice cream, nuts with cream and a sparkler for the extra sparkle!
I make these for my kids, I make at least 2 different coloured jellies (or 3), then mash them up with a fork once set., then I layer up vanilla ice cream, tinned fruit cocktail and the jellies, finish off with whipped cream and a cherry.
The best thing to do is let her recount the recipe to you as she remembers it and then both sit back and wallow in nostalga it would be even nicer if you both make them together, hope the sun shines for you cos' that makes it even better!
