Thanx to all who posted, all had valid points, but to explain, I have had flu since last thursday, never even considered it could be that one,but i was looking after my friends lad,she had to go to work and he was poorly(by looking after i mean he was laid next to me watchin dvds cos i felt ****) when i got a call from his mum sayin 2 of his classmates had had a positive diagnosis. Long story short, paramedics came, werent happy with my breathing,up to hospital and treated like i was radioactive, then sent home. Bin told not to see people, and them i've already bin in contact with to ring GP within 48 hours of any symptoms.
Get wot people say about if i was so bad i wunt be on here, but i'm the other side of it now,and want to do normal stuff.
DONT let this swine flu thing bother u peeps, its all a load of crap, its no worse than bog standard flu,if ya otherwise fit and well,ya'll be fine, honest x x x

I am a bit tired of reading how its nonsense etc .

How many dead now ?
tELL THAT TO THE PARENTS OF THE YOUNG CHILDREN WHO DIED IN ENGLAND FROM IT RECENTLY.

ID SAY ITS NOT WORTH PANICKING OVER BUT IS SERIOUS OUTBREAK
for the majority of people it is a bout of flu. but as in any other flu (even bog standard flu) it has the ability to kill. and THATS what bothers people
i hope u feel better soon.
That's right, legend.
Ignore the direct first-hand experience of someone who has had this 'flu and rely solely on what you have read.

It would appear that most of the people who have succumbed, especially, in UK have had some underlying health problems.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, curvybird :o)
For Gods sake....what's he done now?
Leggy's been zapped already!

How does this happen so quick?
I don't know because there isn't a 'report this answer' option anymore. Can only presume Ed is at work today.....
I'd like to know that too, MWB. I can't imagine there are loads of folk on here at the moment to report a thread and get it automatically banned.

Funny how they never mention what these 'underlying' health problems are though?
Possibly because it is the business of no-one else..........?
Underlying health problems would be anything such as an auto-immune disease, heart or lung disease, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, cancer etc.
i suppose even something as commonplace as asthma could be badly affected by the flu too.
so we should be concerned, even if its just that we should all be aware of symptoms, and ensure that we dont pass it on if affected.
Asthma usually comes under the heading of 'lung disease' red :)
Asthmatics do have to be careful of swine flu...or even ordinary flu. If you are offered a flu jab by your GP every year then you are considered to be more at risk from swine (or any other) flu,if you are not usually offered the jab then you are in the low risk category.
lol i know it comes under lung disease daffy, but usually people hear lung disease and dont associate asthma that way.
I have had swine flu as well, the only "differing" symptom I had from normal flu was I had diarrhoea as well, the flu starts quite suddenly, 1 day I was okay the next day I had a raging flu and felt like crap, it goes away quite suddenly as well, quite bizarre!
should having athletes foot be a cause for concern
Only if your foot is shaped like a pigs trotter, I should think.......
curvybird....you never answered my question on your early morning thread.

"How do you know that you have had swine flu?"
