I own my house outright, theres no mortgage, as i bought it cash. and my boyfriend got a loan to give me some cash too. At the time of the purchase my boyfriend had to write a letter to the solicitors stateing that the money he gave me was an unconditional gift and that he had no interest in the property.

We are now contemplating living together in the property, would i be able to put his name on the deeds?

It's your house, you can put whoever's name you like on the Registered Title.
Remember that doing so will make him just as much a legal owner as you are.

I would leave things as they are, you never can tell what might happen in the future and if you split up you could end up having to sell your house to pay your partner half

Remember that 'putting his name on the deeds' means making him a gift of half the house.

Have decided on a "tennancy in common" where by the money he has given me equates to a percentage. a third of the house, this not only secures him, but also secures me, if we were to split. Thanks all
