That we have this beautiful weather, one of life's good FREE things. But at night we have to lock the windows and swelter, to keep the thieves out!!

Some of our upstairs windows remain open, but I'd rather it be hot than let millions of nasty insects fly in. Got fans in the bedrooms - but it IS hot down here.
I am on the upper 2 floors of a 4-story building....and my windows are ALWAYS open....and I don't get creepy flying things....just moths.
Don't you guys have screens on your windows?
I've got net things which attach to the doors with velcro. No solid screens, because we can't damage any of the frames.
So when you buy, or rent, your house or apartment it doesn't come with built in screens for all doors and windows?

No they don't Stewey. In fact ,I don't think, I've ever seen a house or flat ,with screens.
Never had burglars where I live, only crime here is people putting their bins out a day early
Some people have door screens stewey, but not that many. Windows are often fitted with blinds or shutters, but insect screens aren't the norm. In the normal way, we don't get weather like this to warrant them!

LOL at Elvis! We don't get much crime round here, either - it's so remote that that you can see someone approaching 3 miles off!
Good aint it Ice?, living off the beaten track does have it`s advantages, here it`s only one way into our village and there`s always people about during the day so until it happens...........
you have to be v.brave to get past my dogs.....they're on patrol, supposedly. Actually they guard their feed shed - woe betide the burglar who touches dog chews ;)
LOL! We have 4 dogs, who, just by their vey look, might put anyone off trying to get past them. , but they're as daft as brushes really. Good job the house's like a fortress.

I agree Elvis - being remote has its advantages. You can't even see our house from the road at the bottom, and it'd be very difficult for anyone to reach us.I 'll say no more, but in all honesty, we cold perhaps leave the doors and windows open permanently.
I know Ice, I go out and leave the windows and back door open, sounds daft but hey ho, that`s why I moved here

Where I used to live you had to lock the fookin letterbox
i leave the upstairs windows openn if i go outmainly the front ones. I can set the alarm then and if you touch the ewindows it goes offf
LOL @ Elvis! *Lock the letterbox.

Well we have a super-duper door entry system, and alarms - you name it, but no one's going to get in. That's a cert.
At least we can shoot them in Zimbabwe.
