Hello - my son is 2 and a half around 2.5 stone. (prob about 1metre tall) He's got a maxi cosi Priori seat and I have to say I'm not very impressed with it. No matter how tight I make the straps he can wiggle his arms out. Does anyone have suggestions for a better seat - well 2 actually - I have Isofix in my car but he is also in my mums car a lot and she doesn't have Isofix (he has a maxi cosi Tobi in her car and its an absolute bu**er to fix into her car) Cheers x

ive just changed from a maxi cosi priori xp to the recaro young sport.
my son is almost 4 but at 15kgs i still want to keep him in a 5 point harness til 18kgs and this seat is great.

its stocked in most Halfords so you can try it out
you can buy a clip that goes ccross the harness to stop baby wriggling out. not sure what it is called but may be worth googling
lozzy is right, there are clips available.
But they are not advised.
The reason being that if (god forbid) you ever needed to get child out in a hurry you may not be able to. If someone else was trying to get them out quickly they may not even realise there was an extra clip.
Your best bet is either to teach him NOT to undo his belts or to get one that fits correctly. Are you ensuring it is tight enough to only be able to get 2 fingers below the belt at his chest? The straps should sit level with or above his shoulders and not below at the back too.

Excellent advice as always Red - thanks. I never think to look at Halfords but will def be heading that way soon. Is the car seat easy to fit?
A good tip Lozzy - no matter how tight I get the straps on our current seat he can wriggle his arms out (luckily so far he has only done it once we have stopped and he's eager to get out of the car) Cheers x
its not the easiest to fit, so i wouldnt recommend if youre wanting to swap it often with your mums. Id say keep the tobi or XP in your mums and a permanent one in yours,

Halfords are good, but not cheap so do shop around once you have found one you like.

are you anywhere near peterborough? theres a great store there call kiddicare. They price match stuff too and deliver so you could order online, but they have fitters there who are very helpful too
