Setanta have just announced that they have ceased trading. Anyone any idea what I do now, as I pay monthly by direct debit. Do I cancel the direct debit through my bank, or what. Any help would be appreciated.

Just been on the news that they have got rid of half the staff so there should still be somebody there to answer questions. They are still broadcasting.
They wasn't broadcasting 15 minutes ago.

Cancel your direct debit Schut ASAP.

Brilliant, if you telephone the number given, all it tells you is that Setanta is still trading in Ireland. If you are a uk subscriber then go to the website given, for frequently asked questions. The questions are about joining Setanta etc. Not a lot of use at all.
I was under the impression that a persons bank account is under that persons control, and if you wish to cancel a direct debit you have every right to do so. I shall be contacting my bank to that end, in the morning.
According to the news earlier, all DD's will be cancelled by the administrators anyway.

Thanks Postdog. Will still cancel at the bank to be sure.
If you have internet banking you can cancel direct debit online, saves a trip to the bank
