Any ideas how I can stop my six year old biting his older brothers? He has two older brothers and usually they get on very well however occasionally the one in question will bite their tummies. He did it while ago and I was advised to cure him bite him back!! This I did although I hated it ,I hate his biting now. Help any ideas.

my cousin sits her 4 year old on the bottom stair when he bites, he didnt like it as no one was giving him any attention he feels left out a bit and his brothers stopped playing with him, she was very consistent with him and within 3 weeks his biting had stopped that was 4 months ago!!

sam82 is right, do you watch 'House of Tiny Tearaways'? It is often used to remedy this type of thing but it needs persistence from you with no letting in and action each and every time he/she is naughty! Good luck!
the above comments are very useful. If you are still struggling in a few weeks time why not call your local eduactional psycologist for an informal chat- they do a similar job to the media Dr mentioned but in schools (e.g they would advise staff how to deal with such an incident in school) they are usually ok with having an informal chat over the phobe without having an official referal to them via the school which takes a while. Call them direct-ring the education department and ask for the eduactional psychology department. They will ask for the name of your son's school so that they know which psychologist to put you in touch with (they work on a geographical patch basis) or if you want ask the school to refer him (although they may not if it's not a problem in school). Your school need not know you have asked for advice if you go through the informal ringing the EP method.

hope this helps
Apparently I used to bite my 2 older sisters. My mum says she used to bite me back and I stopped doing it. Infact I am now a vegetarian.
I heard (on Tiny Tearaways actually) that biting them back is a very bad idea. Think about it - you are telling them biting is bad, then doing it yourself! I agree with Sam - 'time out' is becoming very popular and very successful.
