DAB radios

I am on my 2nd radio for the bathroom.Got shot of the 1st one because the 6 big batteries on lasted a week after moderate use.Now the 2nd one with 6 slightly smallert batteries is going the same way.
Are the radio manufacturers in league with Duracell?
or are they just s**t radios?

DAB radios need a lot more power than analogue sets. A test conducted for a programme on Radio 4 showed that the average power consumption is 18 times higher than for an equivalent 'conventional' set.
