Grrr-eat, thank you grrr-eyfox !
Thanks as usual, greyfox. A bit more difficult than usual, I thought.

No t-t-t-trouble at all. Can't sus out the wordplay for 35dn though.
Thanks greyfox..

35d A = per, with the usual two letter abbreviation for alien inserted.

Many thanks slaney.
Very clever puzzle from Dumpynose - 5 of the unclued entries were leading me to a very local race until I twigged the true significance of the title, which then explained the inclusion of 8/36 and the exclusion of 32 - Bravo !
I have filled the grid and I understand the generous hint from Kayakamina re all the T's, but I cannot match those letters to the crossword title.

It is probably obvious but could someone please enlighten me?
Take a careful look at greyfox's posting (No. 4) - there is a numerical connection between the unclued entries which Cruciverbalist alluded to also.
Are you sure it isn't a wind-up?
Thanks Mysterons - all clear now.
After something of a struggle, I managed to get all except 30. Could anyone give me a hint?
Question Author
Heviticus: it's in Chambers as an obsolete word for a type of viol.
Emperor = i (imperator)
Thanks to greyfox and Mysterons, with whose help I managed to solve 30, although I am not too hot on obsolete viol synonyms.
Belated thanks for link
