Having bought ready mixed fuel for the strimmer the last couple of times, the cost is so astronomical that l thought of mixing it myself.
Can someone give me the recipe.
What octane fuel, what type of oil, and to what ratio.
Thanks

2 stroke oil
unleaded fuel

mix ratio is 10 percent oil, to 90 percent fuel
use 95 ron unleaded...any two stroke oil, motorcycle or gardening type at 40:1 ratio.
I have a petrol strimmer at 10 to 1 ratio, 40 to 1 seems very excessive, you could check the manufacturers website willyboy.

I bet thats a smokey one gonzo!
no no no cazz..it works the other way round as a ratio...eg 50:1 is a lot less oil than say 20:1....50 parts petrol to one part oil.
I stand corrected gonz :D

I have used 2-stroke garden machinery by different manufacturers for a number of years and, in all cases, he mix has been 25:1.
........"the mix"......
When you find the correct mix eg. 50:1 - 40:1 do not mix more than you will use in one month as petrol goes off. Always mix fresh every month or you will have trouble starting the engine. Have had this prob myself.
the oil is also heavier than the petrol so it settles to the bottom so give it a good shake before putting it into the strimmer
