I know you are all gonna say 'stupid bird' and I mean me and not our flying friends but I parked my car at the weekend under a large oak tree (discovered after the incident!) and when I picked it up the next day it had been catapulted with bird poo - more than I could ever have anticipated!! Anyway, I proceed a day later to remove with sponge and soap which didn't work so I went on to use a scouring pad and CIF!! As you can imagine I now have discolouration and scratching on my bonnet (Citroen Saxo) which I'm gutted about as just about to part-ex on new motor!!! Can anybody help with DIY gimmicks or suggest a good way or saving my car?? Thanks everso...

Scouring pad & CIF - ouch, poor car !

Get some T-cut or metallic T-cut depending on your paint. You may end up doing the whole car but try the bonnet first. T-cut 'revives' dull/lightly scratched paintwork and so the colour will change slightly.

If it's still a problem after that, get some liquid colour polish which is the nearest match to your paint colour. This can conceal light scratching and works quite well.

And to save you money - use Duraglit metal polish its more or less the same as T-Cut but a great deal cheaper and does exactly the same job.
Go to a local paint shop, and ask to have it mopped
