Communists curb free speech?

I know this has been posted previously, but I feel that I must personally object to the disgusting demonstration that took place outside 'The Mother Of Parliament' the very core of democracy that has bee copied the world over.

I am referring of course to the mob of communists intent on preventing free speech, and were allowed to pelt the leader of a legal democratic political party with rocks and eggs in order to break up his news conference.

It was interesting to note that the Police were not to be seen, and even if they where in the background still no arrests were made. Yet it is not all that long ago when a certain Muslim cleric was free to incite racial hatred outside a certain London mosque. The Police then stood close by not to arrest this individual, but to make sure no one pelted him with rocks and eggs, but you can take it for certain if anyone had they would have soon been arrested.

I am not a supporter of the BNP, but I will defend them in any way I can, to be allowed to have the right of freedom of free speech, the same right as each and everyone of us enjoys.

The BNP are always being labelled as Nazis, but witnessing those scenes outside parliament by the far left (who incidentally have just as much to answer for as the Nazis) was reminiscent of the scenes of the Hitler's Brown Shirts attacking in the streets all those who opposed them.

It is traditional for MPs who reside in the UK parliament to be interviewed outside it, or people commenting on the UK Governments policies such as the Tamils, to be outside it. It is not traditional for a European Party with no elected MPs to be photographed out it.

There is no good reason why they should be posing outside the British parliament. They have not been elected there. It is a stunt to making people think they have.

This BNP stunt was secretly organised and hastily staged. That is why there were not sufficient Police there. The 'mob' were mainly students and they were quickly on the scene through the use of 'Twitter'.

Unite Against Racism, the group involved her are not a communist organisation. They have support from across the political spectrum . Would david Cameron be a supporter if it was communist?

Your choice doesn't count, he was found not guilty.

On 6 February 2006, a jury at Leeds Crown Court returned not guilty verdicts on two of the charges, and was unable to reach a verdict on the other two. The Crown Prosecution Service announced that it would seek a re-trial.

In early November 2006, the retrial of Griffin and co-defendant Mark Collett took place, and once again both men were found not guilty on all counts, which means that of all the people arrested in connection with the BBC documentary, none had been convicted of any offence relating to it.

The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) is the largest far left party in Britain. It is credited with founding the Anti-Nazi League, which has since merged into Unite Against Fascism,

Listed amongst their ideologies are Revolutionary, Socialism, and surprise, surprise, TROTSKYISM.

Seems pretty convincing to me.

A 'Red' by any other name.

It doesn't matter that the BNP are a democratically elected party...so it Hamas!

I will put it to you in simple terms...most normal moderate people hate extremists.

The BNP are extremists.

Ergo...people hate them.

However, as I have previously mentioned...it's a ridiculous waste of good eggs.

And being 'loony lefties', no doubt those eggs were organic and free range,

Must've cost a fortune.

Stupid students...they should get jobs and decent haircuts.

Oh so you know all this for certain do you Gromit. (what no links).

So all the media informed of a statement about to be made by the BNP, and all the setting up of equipment on the 'Green' then taking into account all the police that are already well in attendance around the Parliament building, and yet still there were not sufficient Police??????

Good job no one was assembling a car bomb on the green.
aog, are you seriously saying the people throwing eggs "have just as much to answer for as the Nazis"?

I posted this on another thread, but here goes again: the Nazis sought to rule Europe and commit genocide. This is NOT the same as throwing eggs, and if you have any friends or relations who fought against the Nazis they might say the same. They might say they would have been very happy to spend the war having eggs thrown at them.

From the Mail owned London Evening Standard...

Protesters had marched from Westminster Tube after being alerted on Twitter and email about Mr Griffin's appearance.

Gromit Reading through this thread it seems that you're all for free speech as long as you agree with what is being said. If you do not agree with what is being said then you seem to think it's acceptable to use force in order to silence that voice.

Comments such as, ...There is no good reason why they should be posing outside the British parliament... and ... This BNP stunt was secretly organised and hastily staged. are all just fluff designed to deflect criticism about your apparent dislike of free speech.

As I have said in a recent thread, the way to deal with the likes of the BNP is not to pelt them with eggs and otherwise prevent them from speaking. If their ideals and polices are that unacceptable then it's far better to let them raise their heads above the parapet and allow them a voice. That way, reasonable, sober, rational people can defeat their argument in an open forum.

By advocating the suppression of free speech you are actually raising the BNP's profile and encouraging the public to regard a legitimately elected political official as a victim of violent activists.

Which part of the sentence

...I would have preferred to hear what he (Nick Griffin) had to say, and Unite Against Fascism... probably did not do their cause much good.

did you not understand?

On another thread I wrote

We should ignore all the press induced hype and judge them (the BNP) on what they do (and say).

Finally, just for the record, I believe the BNP have e legitimate right to hold press conferences without violence being used against them.

What completely stupid analogies jno, how old are you?

If you, like myself had been around at that time, believe me you would have known the difference between a V1 and an egg.

Incidentally the V1 was not a rocket in the true sense of the word, it was a pilotless aircraft, the V2 was a rocket.

Do you seriously think that the Nazis started off equipped with V1s? no it was first eggs, rocks then batons, which later developed into more sophisticated weapons.

'Out of little acorns large Oaks grow'.
Gromit,

The overall tone of your posts seemed to indicate that you were rather pleased that Griffin had eggs thrown at him and that he had got what he deserved.

I stand corrected.
birdie1971

I have just re-read what I have written on this thread and cannot see one word which indicated I was pleased with the egging.

I was critical of them posing outside a building they hadn't been elected to, which I dismissed as a stunt, but no support from me for the assault.
