Depends what you wear. In a shorter skirt, hold ups or stockings are inappropriate, as the tops can be seen when sitting or bending and that just looks plain crass, so tights are the most practical option.

Tights do tend to be uncomfortable as they're always so tight around the waist and can be a pain putting them on, if they become a bit twisted. My prefered choice are hold ups, although I'm always left with itchy hives on my inner thighs after wearing, probably allergic to the silicon grip tape.

i used to wear stocking and suspenders for sports at school when it was cold - the male gym teacher nearly had a coronory, but at least i was warm!!
