A Guantanamo inmate is being transferred to the US mainland to face trial. He is the first of the inmates to receive a mainland trial.

Is President Obama likely to close the camp within a year as promised or will the Guantanamo prison camp be around for years to come?

Thanks Gromit, I'm as blind as a bat, but I think he will have major problems funding the relocation of prisoners. If he gets desperate, I can envisage the USA just offloading the lot on the Afghans or Iraqis.
I quite agree Julnar. They could send them back to Afghanistan or Iraq using the US transporters that carry the dead soldiers back home.
