I'm going on holiday soon and i want to get an mp2 player which is like an ipod but without all the problems I've heard about that can go with them. I want it to be about 20G and just as small and easy to use but i don't even know where to start. Help would be very much appreciated!

Planet micro. this is a good site and I have purchased 3 mp3 players so far and they are all good quality.

sorry my copy and paste has gone awol.but the sites easy to find.

hi.I have the sony nw-hd3. its 20gb and has a really long battery life (30 hours) not like the ipod which is only 12. its slightly smaller than the ipod i would say. nice and easy to use! very good ;) comes in 4 colours 2. blak, silver, pink and red. I've got the red
Mr Spudqueen has got a creative muvo something it's an MP3 player, radio and recorder and can store documents. He loves it. Check out the John Lewis website.

I have the 40 gig version of  THIS   As well as playing mp3 files it also stores DVDs and plays them on a fantastic colour screen. If you would like more info, the good the bad and the ugly, have a look  HERE.

I'm well chuffed with mine

I was going to put a word in for the iriver, but fly258 has beaten me to it. If you got the 40GB version, it also has a USB port on it that you can suck all the photos from your digital camera while you're on holidays so you can take as many photos as you like.
My second choice would be the new Sony nw-hd4 which has an incredible 40 hours battery life. I don't know if it's released yet though.

The main problem with Sony and most others is that you need their software to transfer music from your PC and a lot have DRM (digital rights management) issues.

With the iRiver you just click n drag as you do in windows explorer as it just shows up as another hard drive, makes life a LOT easier.

I have got a really old mp3 player (creative labs jukebox 3) and a mini ipod. I really rate my creative labs one i have never had any problems with it. I know that there is a creative zen touch which is 20gb this is meant to be really good and is roughly the same size as an ipod

Myself, My Boyfriend and 5 other people i know and have had ipods which all been totally successful. I have had 3 mp3's which have broken and my boyfriend has had 6 which have broken and my brother has had 1 which broke. Me and my boyfriend decided to try ipods and they couldnt have been better. I dont know what problems you have heard about them, but they look good, are easy to install, easy to put songs onto, easy to use and i are still a novelty to me even after 6 months!! I would seriously reccommend one as they are the best on the market!
