i finished the course yesterday evening so it'll be 24 hours plus i'll be having food with it so it won't be as toxicating.
It is a myth that you cannot drink alcohol whilst taking antibiotics (except perhaps Flagyl).

You should have no problems at the party.
Question Author
why do they say you shouldn't then?
Question Author
Or did they say it in the olden days because of the precautionary principle as they didn't know if alcohol affected your antibiotics and it stuck?
Just in case....
They?....who are "they?"

How do myths come about?

Medical studies have shown that excluding Flagy, Bacterim and perhaps Griseofulvin, there are no deleterious affects by mixing antibiotics with moderate amounts of alcohol.
ummm good morning ....how is Northampton today?
Question Author
I supose your right because i've never heard of a doctor saying it but people have said it so i assumed someone with medical/chemical knowlege said so.
Boiling......I had a very bad nights sleep.

Where are you again?
Menorca ummm, but born and bred in Peterborough.
Gosh....I bet it's hot there today.
Yepp....but people coming for lunch.....urgggg!!!! can't stand socialising.
Metraziuoline is really the only anti you shouldnt ever take alcohol with -usually used by Dentists but can be used for Vaginitis -(eff knows the connection) -I didnt even google that -I once had it -for absecess (sp?) and was so petrified that I didnt take any booze at all !!! It was my GP who told me the other reason lol

You would be very very sick indeed.Othere than that I think its an urban myth re other antis's.

I'm fine

I had two small glasses of wine and the rest of the evening was nice aswell.

DW I drink sensibly. I've been brought up in a quite a frenchy family with many of the french ways. But i gave up french for gcse's because i'm rubbish at it.

I know what you mean absess/abcess i think.
Question Author
abscess! we started doing medicine in history and today for some reason abscesses came up.

i know why! stone age people were quite healthy but they suffered from broken bones and abscesses a lot but not actual tooth decay because they didnt have sugar.
