Anyone know why there were so many London type taxis on the M1 southbound today, must have been at least one hundred and we saw three police vehicles. Time would have been between 4.30 and 6 p.m. but it was an amazing sight to see so many taxis and we were puzzled as to why they should all be on the road. Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Why did TWR only get two stars for his answer, he is quite correct.

a lot of taxi drivers arrange days out for special needs and under privileged children and there are a lot of these types of runs all over the country.

Another one goes from the East End out to Maldon on the Blackwater Estuary in Essex each year too - it's lovely.

Thanks all of you. Sorry about the 2 stars, I now know it deserves 3. Its a marvellous thing you all do but surprising that there was nothing in the newspapers about this outing which must be very much appreciated..
