Can anyone advise if it is more beneficial to take stirling travel cheques or take cash and change money out there?

Stirling is a city in Scotland and I am not sure they issue travellers cheques.

However I do believe you can buy sterling travellers cheques.
We went 2 years ago and took some bulgarian currency with us - about �100. Then we just changed English money locally when we needed it - the rate was about the same as we got in Britain.
