What type of engine oil for a 2002 Vauxhall Agila

Hi,can any one tell me what type of oil I need for my dads Vauxhall Agila 1.0 petrol car 2002 reg.

I have some 5W-30 fully synthetic oil,would this be ok?
Hi Barrie, if it's just to top up the oil then I would say yes. If it is for a complete oil change I would personally stick to the 5w/40 recommendation especially if you intend keeping the car long term.
Just to add to the confusion the Castrol website recommends their Edge 0w30 or Magnatec 10w40 products. Can you not check the owners handbook as that will confirm what oils are suitable.
