. . . and put it towards Kaka?
I hope they do - even as a fan I'm getting fed up of his diving and prima-donna attitude.
What was all that head shaking after he got substituted against City? We were 2-0 up and needed him fresh for last night, but he acts as if he knows better than Fergie.

Good stuff JJ . . . . is Brighton's fanzine still called "and Smith must score"?
Ooh, Mariner ... that's spooky. How do you know so much about Brighton?

That "Smith must score" thing goes back to the 1980's when Brighton sooooo nearly beat Man Utd ... and then got stuffed in the replay.

NoKnowledge - I am just grateful your mob agreed with you, or else you would have won the European cup a few times. Perish the thought.
It would be a good time to sell him as he is still at his maximum worth.

But MU won't sell. Winning the Champions League earns around 80million. They can make more money with him in the team, than by selling him.

He has struck his best form of the season, so he did not want to be substituted. He wants to score. He wants to win. You cannot get any more committed than that. I'm sure when SAF explained it was for the greater good, he understood the reason he was substituted.
The boy only wants to play you cant blame him he wants the golden high heel trophy, not like Robinho at our place
the little S**t only plays when the suns out, which is not alot in Manchester.
I believe he will go to Real Madrid coz thats wot his mummy wants, Kaka would be unbelievable.

Yeah, fair comment, and the ultimate objective would be to get Kaka in . . . pure class in all departments and no diving from what I've seen of him.
Apparently it's only us Brits that have a problem with diving though, I was watching Platinin getting interviewed on John Cleese's A to Z of football on ESPN classic and he dismissed it as all part and parcel of the game . . . . so that's fine, but whatever we do we must stamp down on players who take their shirts off when they score (unless it's Iniesta and he's already on a yellow)
Wonder if that's owt to do with the fact that it must upset the sponsors when the watching millions can't see their name on the scorer's shirt because he's taken it off?

JJ - 1983 . .. I watched it in a bar in Corfu, but missed the replay as we were at sea.
'Crumble without ronaldo?? Cantona was three times as influential as he is and what happened the season after he left?'

..erm United won nothing 97/98. Then they re-grouped for the Treble in 98/99. Beckham must of thought his nickname was BOOO... HISS....!

...back to your Q, I for one are am also annoyed at his theatrics, but his skill and goalscoring record makes up for it and as much as I highly rate Kaka (who doesn't) I would'nt sell Ronny to get him.
I was at Wembley for the 1983 replay. The only cup final I've ever managed to get tickets for. We drove to Wembley at six o'clock on the Sunday morning after the final and queued for hours. Was well worth it...
The Kaka rumours is probably just a ploy to remind Ronaldo he can be easily replaced if he decides to turn his back on United.

Why he would leave a club that has got him to 2 consecutive Champions League finals is a mystery. And he doesn't need the money.

I thought the season after Cantona left was the "you win nothing with kids" season? I stand corrected though - so it was a season later, essentially the same team though.
My point is that one player has never been that important to United, and Ronaldo will never scale the heights of last season . . . and don't you get fed up of his free kicks hitting the wall 19 times out of 20?
It was the start of the 95/96 season that brought about Hansen's insightful quote, after the sale of Hughes, Ince and Kanchelskis. United went on to win their second double.

You are right no one player is bigger than the team and SAF has proven it with the list of ejected players. Ronaldo might very well (with) the team topple what he achieved last season.

...and yeah Damned annoying that one.

Leeds last night . . . . HA HA HA!
Another season in the third division, which is two levels above where they should be, but I'm not complaining. . . . . "staying down together . . . "
