I am in love with a guy who is in love with someone else. I can't stop thinking about him and wondering if the situation will change. I really need some suggestions as to how I can get out of this mess, as I hate feeling so down. Thank you.

Go out with your mates...get drunk....pull someone else....work harder in your job...stop seeing them if you are still seeing them...if he's married or engaged or something then you shouldnt be getting involved anyway.....Take up new hobbies..try scuba diving or jump out of a plane for charity.....

all help make the time pass quicker.....good luck with it...it does take a while....oh and dont listen to sad music

Yep and try to find a fault in him! Feel good about yourself, get down the gym, get your hair cut, Retail therapy! (oh god I forgot retail therapy!!) and you never what the future holds for you love wise. ..... get out there girl!
Oops sorry, that was meant to say and you never KNOW ....... ;-)
If he's in love with someone else, then even if she dumps him, it won't make him love you. Forget him, move on. It may seem like you can't now, but you will - and believe it or not, in time you'll be glad you did too.
I was recently in a similar situation.  I prayed.  It helped.

Pray.

Go out and meet new people.

I've been there so I can sympathise.  Time will heal - it's a cliche, but true.  in the meantime everyone else's suggestions are good.  Try to accept that the situation won't change - the other girl got to him first and that's fair, even though it doesn't seem it.
It's rotten wanting someone who doesn't want you.  I 'fell for' someone and it had to remain an unrequited love. To continue with this present ache you will find it blights other things and prevents other possible relationships.  I wonder whether it's because the other person is unavailable that he/she becomes more attractive to us all?  I can hear my ma saying 'you always want what you can't have my girl, you aren't happy until you get your own way' and like scoldings.  I am consoled by the fact that it is probable the infatuation lasted longer in my head and heart than it might have done if things had gone the way I hoped - and I was probably saved some anguished tears later on when it ended, as it surely would have.  Some things are not meant to be and we must accept that, painful though it is at the time.  Lots of other nice things will happen, hannah333, but any affair of the heart takes a while. .. You've had good advice from the other posters but I know it's not easy when other things lose their appeal.  'Lovesick' is well-applied to any of us in such a situation.  Get well soon!
