have a look at the adverts section on this site, quite a following for a ban the frog campaign!!  How would you feel being a proper musician, having to work hand to mouth for years (even after a contract signed you still paying back the record company) only for a computer generated frog who says a bing bing bing to rob you of a number one and make over �14Million!!!

Don't let it worry you. Who cares about the singles chart? not me, not Coldplay, not EMI. Albums are where the money (and real artistic merit) are at. X&Y is top of all the pre-order charts and will sell bucketloads and will probably (hopefully) be a majestic collection of fantastic songs, beautifully performed and recorded. That idiot Butters and his cronies will make a few grand out of the hoodie-clad bozos in their souped up Saxos, then he'll disappear back to hospital radio where he belongs.

Rja's right don't worry about it, the singles chart has been a joke for years, its albums and live concerts that are important to serious artists, the singles chart is awash with crap...always has been..

as far back as you care to look novelty records have topped the charts.joe dolce holding 'vienna' by ultravox from the no.1 spot most famously springs to mind.
