i use hob brite, available in most supermarkets,it has always worked well on my halogen one, a friend uses cillit bang grease remover spray and says thats good to :-)

Fairy Power Spray, just spay on, leave for 10mins and wash off, brilliant.

Thanks to everyone who answered. Cillit Bang seems to be 2 to ! favourite so will give it a try.
