F ... Ferro prussia te

Q ...Quar t z prop hy ry
Q is quartz porphyry:

prop+z (backwards), in THY, in turn inside quarry (excavation).

Still stuck on F though.

Many thanks. Typical Araucaria - words I have never met!
Those two answers help me with T.
I'm still stuck on A and Y though.
And I don't understand C
amboyna
yalu

both pretty obscure words...

C is easier:

cola is the drink - does that help, given that it's associated with D and W?
Thanks, I was fooled into assuming that the D and C weren't clues at all just (DC) that goes after the answer to W.
And I penciled in Cocacola as a drink, when I only had a C******A, and then forget that it I hadn't solved the clue.

I'd never have finished it without you all.
