Me too.

It's good they're home but they didn't really need the troops there in the first place. Iraq is no different now than how it used to be, it's the stupid governments fault for sending them there in the first place.

This song reminds me of the government:

Hi liverpoolfoo:

I echo each and every one of your words.

But how long will it take this Government to force them to do an "about turn" and send them to Afghanistan?

...and to the Arsenal fans who got safely back from Manchester last night...it's grim up there...
yes it is a chapter ended, but it was a just war....and so is afghanistan......

Hi paraffin knowing this government not very long!!!! But just for the moment lets hope the Troops & their families can enjoy all the time they have together. Speaking from experience theres nothing better than coming home from Hell Holes like that believe me!!!
who have you served with then liverpoolfoo?
Question Author
It used to be the 3rd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers!!!
i was with the staffordshire regiment...took part in desert storm in 1990....
Question Author
So you know what i mean about Hell Holes then?
Yes, great that they are home. I have the greatest respect for the troops especially after last year in Bastion working in the hospital there.
Question Author
marie26 nice to hear you worked in the hospital in Bastion. Was that in a military or civilian role?
i second that liverpoolfoo.
My son has just come back from Afghanistan.
I'm obviously an old fart compared to some of you guys but I served over 15 years with the Royal Signals, coming out 1983.

Because of the job I was doing, I didn't have to go to the Falklands, was down to go to N.I. a few times but they were all cancelled unbelievably, but a good mate of mine took a bullet in the back over there and didn't make it - b*stards!

It grips my sh*t big time when you get more publicity being given to Jade Goody's funeral, and condolences from out P.M., and we've got men and women getting blown away in Iraq and Afghanistan with barely a mention! Pathetic!!!
