I have purchased many things from ebay and have always paid by Pay Pal as I have a debit card registered with them and they take the money that I owe straight from my bank account, my question is if I started selling on ebay how do I get the money that I make, is it paid in to my bank account or do I have to contact Pay Pal and request it

Any money you receive from ebay sales that has been paid via PayPal, stays in your PayPal account. You can 'move' the funds to your nominated bank account (a small fee is charged for this I think)...
Look in your paypal account.

There are tabs along the top, starting with My Account, Send Money
Immediately below these is another row of tabs. The third one is Withdraw.
Click on that to transfer monies to your bank account. There may be a charge but this will be made clear to you. There is usually no charge for amounts over 50.

PayPal state the transfer should take 3 - 5 working days, I have known it take 10

Thanks for taking the time to answer, it's a lot clearer now, cheers...
Also ebay take their fees directly out of your paypal account every so often. They tell you they are doing this, but they dont ask you. We usually leave some money from buyers in paypal so this can be done without the money being taken out of the bank.
Ebay only take their fees from your Paypal account if that is the method of payment you have chosen and clicked on the relevant links to authorise ebay to do that.

You don'y have to have automatic fee payments if you don't want them. If you do choose automatic payments then you get a number of choices as to where ebay collect those fees from - your credit card or your bank account are two of the options.
I didnt realise that we had opted to do it that way Rollo, so thanks for the info. (It was a long time ago that we started!)
I pay my fees from a credit card. I don't like leaving money in my Paypal account.
