Hi all,

I have decided to change career after having little or no job satisfaction over the last 5 years.

My friend was involved in an accident on hoiday and after a little reflection on life, i have decided i would like a career in nursing or social care.

If anyone could give an insight to courses to gain a qualification to get myself on the ladder it would be much appreciated

good luck with nursing, for some reason everyone i know that has applied for nursing cant get accepted on any courses!!! and thats with the government trying to enlist more!! but with social care a good way of getting into that is to see if u can do any part time work at a nursing home, or voluntary as this is regarded as experience and can help get u on courses easier or even be offered a job from the home u work at

Thank you two you both, very helpful.
The Open University are doing a good course currently called "Health and Social Care".  Might be worth looking into.
  1. There are now courses at local colleges called "access" courses and there is an access to nursing course. If you go to your local college they should be able to tell you more. I believe it is a course which combines different subjects that will enable you to then go on and qualify to become a nurse, I think it's a government scheme, the course is free and all you pay for is the exams which doesn't work out too bad.
