I dont have enough time before I go on holiday to the US to have a full visa approved as this can take several months. So could I use my existing visa waiver or are more checks made on UK criminal records at US passport control? Feeling sick to the stomache about this as the holiday was all booked and paid for before I got arrested so some advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

No, they don't have access to UK criminal records. And if you applied for a visa you quite possibly wouldn't get one. I presume the approval you got was for the online one; you'll have to fill out the green form on the flight as well.
You will however be lying on the form you fill in on the plane.

You've little choice though - cancel or risk it. Even if there were time to apply for a visa the chances of you getting one are slim to non-existent.
