I travelled to see my friend Carl Palmer - we are working on his autobiography together - and I stayed behind for a chat with him after the show.

When I left through the stage door, there was a crowd of a dozen or so fns who looked so expectantly at me as i emerged through the door, and then their faces fell when i obviously wasn't a prog. superstar.

I shrugged and said "Sorry ..." and they all burst out laughing!

Sadly not, although from many moons ago I can picture you (or at least what I think you look like) with a man bag and a slightly bewildered look.

I assume (with all due respect to Asia, given it is where I live) that the crowd were in the later stages of youth

Spot on! Bag and bewliderment both in place.

Yes the band - and audience, and I are all moving into the latter stages of our fandom, but it was still rocktastic and progressivemungous in a totally 'let's rock! type way!
