Hi all,
Does anyone know any way that I can stop myself falling asleep in lessons? It's not because I'm bored or tired - even if the material is really interesting & I've had a good night's sleep, I just can't help myself!! Some days are worse than others but I've always had trouble staying awake, even at school!
TIA

I've always had this problem too. Even started to do it during jury duty! I'm afraid I've never found a foolproof solution though sipping water and eating Polos helped a tiny bit on some occasions.
I used to do that in work meetings! Can you bring a bottle of coke or something like that in with you? The sugar should perk you up a bit if you can sip it every so often!

Or try taking notes, using your concentration usually forces you to stay awake
I am glad its not just me, was beginning to think i had an attention problem.

At school, we'd watch a video in History or Geography, then i'd drop with a puddle of drool on the desk. Only to be woken when the lights flicked on and there being some mention of an essay on the film we'd just seen.............erm.........oops.

Now i am 34 and still can't help nodding off as soon as i am in a meeting, just because someone else is talking and not me...........i took extra strong coffeee in but that never helped, i doodled on some paper i found in my handbag.........heck its awful once you start going.........
I also tried extra strong mints..........

I can only suggest a water spritzer for your face.

Have you ever tried nipping yourself??? I did once when i was desperate to keep my eyes from closing..........its not easy
draw pokemon pics and send them into smtv live.....thats will help
Constant tiredness can be a sign of anaemia. Not eating enough carbohydrates can also sap energy. Your doctor will do a simple blood test for anaemia, or might refer you to a dietician who could improve your energy levels with a simple change to what you're eating. Sugary drinks and caffeine are only short term solutions and should be avoided if possible, unless you need a 'quick fix'.
you sound like me - so basically you can't help it! unless you are on your feet and on the go, any type of sitting down/listening/learning will send you nodding at about 2pm. i did it at school, college university and now on my days off from full time work.

give in gracefully and power nap when you get the opportunity! its great - i love it when it is just me and the cats snoozing at home on one of my afternoon off from work and my two boys are out. btw - i snoozed at college and uni every day and still passed with a 1st! my hubby says ive got narcolepsy, but i know im not that bad!!!

i think the spanish have got the right idea about a big lunch and kip afterwards when it is sunny...
i also do it when i travel in cars within about 10 minutes, or on longer bus and train journeys - i once woke up on a train 40 miles after my stop for work. didn't have a clue where (or when!) i was!
