i have recently started rearing chickens, and now have some chicks. could it be possible for someone to help me sex them.i have marans,light sussex,buff orpingtons and tan silkies. i ahve been told that the maran chick ******* has silver in its feathers when its a chick. if anyone could help me further it would be a great help?

Hold the baby chick in one hand and then flay one of the wing's feathers apart so they are separated. In between the longer feathers you'll see pin feathers that are longer for the males than the females... In fact the pin feathers are often indistinguishable for the males since they are as long as the regular or primary feathers... always shorter in female chicks...
You probably would rather not hear about cloacal sexing...
If you go here and scroll right to the bottom you'll see a c0ck and hen chick - that is providing yours are also the pure Cuckoo series, not crossbreeds.
